My journey to being healthy began years ago, with the birth of now almost 10 year old daughter. Grace was born with severe eczema, and allergies. She as an infant could only have organic or homemade baby food, cloth wipes etc. Then came a long her brother Aidan who is now 8. Aidan has autism. So research is one of my favorite things..
In 2009 I started digging into what I was feeding my children, and myself. I read The Unhealthy Truth, The ADHD and Autism Cookbook, and several other books. Those two books are two I recommend everyone read, rather your children have allergies, autism,ADHD or not. I realized what a difference I could make in the health issues and behaviours we were facing. My daughter has food allergies/intolerance's that include dairy, soy, peanut, tree nuts, shellfish, oats. I noticed that organic produce improved her skin quality ( she rarely has an outbreak now), and I noticed organic milk improved Aidan's behaviours. That was just the beginning. We switched over slowly...and we still have struggles sometimes.. it isn't cheap to eat good. I use the farmer's market and coupons to make our food budget go further. Earth fare LOVE coupons, and the deals they put out really help me stay a Earth Fare Frugal chick :).
Then I discovered Earth Fare.. and I was in LOVE... It made choosing what is healthy or not to be putting into my children's growing bodies so easily. I still have to read labels, but at least I know Earth Fare goes through intensive research into the quality of the food they sale.
Just recently I was diagnosed with MS, and there is a lot of research into going Gluten Free to help with symptoms... I am trying to go GF and follow a paleo diet now, so Earth Fare has yet again saved the day for us!!
