Frugal Chicks Always Give Back: October Abuse Center Drive

Every month I will be Spotlighting a local Frugal Chicks Outreach project.. Please comment here if you donate!! A place to take all those freebies, or cheapies you don't know what to do with. 

This month's outreach project is a drive at The Bojangles in Elizabethton for the local women's abuse center.  Just take your local items to Bojangles! 

 Here are some of the items needed..

any personal hygiene products..

Deodorants, 

shampoos, conditioners, toilet paper,

pads, tampons, soaps, body wash, and unused make ups

What a sweet little idea to brighten someone in your life's day!

Apple with Caramel Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients

1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

10 pkgs (2 oz each) caramel dip

2 (39 gr each) Skor bars

8 apples

8 (1/2 cup each) mason jars

Directions

Mix cream cheese with 2 of the caramel dips (4 oz). Mix until smooth.

Divide evenly amongst 8 jars. Wipe rim.

Spoon 1 each of the remaining 8 caramel dips into each jar.

Crush up both Skor bars.

Sprinkle Skor crumbs evenly amongst the 8 jars.

Place lid on jars. 

Top each jar with an apple.

Wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon. Keep refrigerated until ready to give away.

We all have friends who occasionally fall ill or have a baby. Here is a great idea from Embellish Goods. Pay it forward by cooking someone else a dinner and use these cute printables!

Pay it forward Friday: Blessing bags

 I want to challenge you my readers to Pay it forward.. One reason I like to coupon is gives me a way to helps others even if I don't have a ton of money.. 

 I came across a great idea called Blessing Bags over at KWVAS... What a great thing to hand out to the homeless or the man who asks you for change... It be a lot better then staring at him like Ummm I am broke or that uncomfortable feeling you get when they stare at you at the red light.. or that could just be me...

Here is what you will need:

Gallon size Ziplock bags

items to go in the bags, such as:

chap stick

packages of tissues

toothbrush and toothpaste

comb

soap

trail mix

granola bars

crackers

pack of gum

band aids

mouthwash

coins (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)

hand wipes

you could also put in a warm pair of socks, and maybe a Starbucks gift card

Assemble all the items in the bags, and maybe throw in a note of encouragement. Seal the bags and stow in your car for a moment of providence.

My daughter found this idea fun and exciting, so we are doing it as a family!
